The GOMMAIRE glazed terracotta ceramics are handmade in the southern part of Morocco, resulting in subtle variations and imperfections that contribute to its distinctive beauty and uniqueness.
The inherent beauty and uniqueness of this collection lies in its imperfections. The unique pots, vases, tea light holders, and bowls in green and ochre glazed terracotta are characterised by irregularities, black spots, rough unglazed patches, and the typical 3 dots on the surface. The ceramics’ distinctive and authentic characteristics are a result of the primitive glazing process employed in the furnace. This technique bestows a truly unique and genuine aspect upon each piece.
The product is great for presentation, although it is important to note that our terracotta is not 100% waterproof. Therefore, we recommend taking precautions when using it for food display by adding a protective layer. Similarly, when working with water or any other liquids, we advise using a protective inner layer or placing a protective basin. Our glazed ceramics are also not suitable for outdoor use.
We believe the more you use the product, the more beautiful it becomes. Plates, bowls and vases can be cleaned by hand with water and a natural detergent. In order to nourish the glaze and untreated surfaces, please apply some olive oil or natural (bees)wax. Our glazed terracotta ceramics are not suited for the dishwasher, the oven, or the microwave. Make sure the item is always completely dry before storing away.
